FAQ’s about online therapy:
What is online therapy?
The online therapy I utilize is video sessions (still face-to-face, just virtual!) I use a HIPAA compliant platform (secure and confidential) called Zoom. I’ll send you a link via email, you click it at our scheduled time and VOILA! We’re connected and on our way to a productive and effective online therapy session, wherein you can talk freely about whatever it is you’d like to work on and progress toward. Therapy is not only convenient for you, but I can do online couples therapy in Indiana and counseling for young adults or therapy for teenagers.
Is online counseling covered by insurance?
Jordan Therapy Services does not submit directly to insurance. However, I can provide you with a detailed receipt if you decide to try and seek reimbursement through your insurance policy. It really depends, some companies reimburse and some don’t. But you certainly have the freedom to give it a try and I’ll do my best to help in any way that I can! Looking for more information? Check out my rates page.
How much does online counseling cost?
Video therapy sessions utilize the same resources, brain power, creativity, emotional processing and expenditure as in office sessions, therefore online sessions are the same cost as in person sessions – $200 for the initial session and $175 for all subsequent sessions.
Is online therapy in Indiana safe?
Yes! Online sessions are just as confidential as in person sessions (and perhaps even more so). Just make sure you choose a private area to maintain your own confidentiality. However, I take confidentiality very seriously during online therapy sessions. Check out this study from Science Daily about the effectiveness of psychotherapy and online therapy.
Online Therapy is Convenient
With the ease, convenience, and efficacy of online therapy sessions, you can now prioritize your mental health and work toward feeling and doing your best! There are many benefits in engaging in online therapy sessions. For example, you can have greater scheduling ease, no commute time to cut into your day, no venturing out in less-than-desirable weather, less inhibition, comfortability and familiarity of surroundings, no childcare coordination for new moms and dads, minimal disruption of your day. The list goes on and on. Therefore, the mode of therapy is no longer the “wave of the future”, it’s here and with all the advanced technology it’s no longer a second choice to in person sessions. The clients I have worked with have responded very well to it, exhibiting favorable outcomes and reported improvement. In fact, even prefer online sessions to in person now!
Is Online Therapy in Indiana Safe and Effective?
Research has shown online therapy to be just as effective as in-person therapy sessions. With guidance from your highly trained therapist, Laura J. Jordan, you can work toward the same goals you would in an office setting, plus it’s more convenient for your busy life (and some clients even experience it as more effective)! More accessible therapy sessions through a secure, confidential online video platform, leads to increased consistency, which leads to an increase in you reaching your goals and desired outcomes!
Above all, this works the same as in person sessions. Are you ready for changes? Ready enough to work for them? If you’re willing to put in the work, then yes therapy is effective.
